Emily Medbury is an interdisciplinary artist working across film, design, and material experimentation, with painting as a constant within her practice. Painting is where thinking quiets and sensation takes over. She works without a fixed outcome, allowing colour and form to emerge intuitively, often revealing faces, patterns, and emotional traces along the way.

At the core of her practice is process: zoning out, paying attention, following feeling, and allowing meaning to surface naturally. Her work invites moments of recognition, pause, and joy, and often sparks the urge to create something of your own.

Alongside her art practice, Emily is the co-founder and director of Nice Film Co. Over the last decade, her work has spanned across diverse areas of film, design and the arts, from event activations and curation to brand identity and sculptural work.

Formerly the Executive Creative Director of Fungi Solutions, her study and practice with the use of regenerative and recycled materials is what established her voice within the design sector. This broader creative work blends multiple skillsets, design knowledge, and a cross-disciplinary creative approach shaped by a diverse professional background.
